Does Science contradict The Bible?

The questions we must first ask in relation to our question:

  1. Why were scientists such as Newton, Pascal, and Mendel devout Christians?

  2. Does the scientific theory denote a basic theological principle?

  3. What have famous atheists said regarding the fine-tuning of the universe?

Scientists who have founded, discovered, and developed our knowledge on gravity, genetics, general relativity, the first two laws of thermodynamics, and a vast plethora of other ground-breaking science were all devout Christians with an unwavering faith that stood alongside their inordinate scientific impact.

The scientific process implies and assumes the presence of constants and the reproducibility of experiment results; this provides the foundation for determining almost anything, from the current required to power a circuit to the correct calculations for a rocket to break out of Earth's orbit.

The second law of thermodynamics states that:

Any spontaneously occurring process will lead to an escalation in the entropy of the universe

This begs the question: if the universe was made through chaos and randomness, absent of a guiding intelligent force, how did order come to fruition despite being in direct contrast to a known law of the universe?

Conclusion

To state that a faith in Christianity cannot be complemented by a thorough understanding of science is a fallacy disproven by the exemplary lives of some of the greatest scientists there have ever been. Through this very science, we observe laws that directly challenge the idea that the universe came about without a guiding force.

The perfection of our universe for sustaining life is a point even conceded by atheists such as Christopher Hitchens, who claimed that the fine tuning of our universe (a tiny change to any constants or positions would render life impossible) was the greatest challenge to atheistic ideology. With all this in mind, we can comfortably conclude that an understanding of science does not dismiss the idea of God but reinforces the necessity of God in everything involving science.
