Jesus tested by Satan
The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” - Luke 4:3
Having been baptised and honoured by God the Father, “You are My beloved Son,” we see happening to Christ what is so common for many of us today: a time of great blessing followed immediately by a time of great suffering and testing.

The Garden in gethsemane
“Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” - Luke 22:42
The agony Christ endures in the garden of Gethsemane before His arrest gives us both instruction and insight on how and when we should pray, while also exhibiting God’s unfathomable love for us, shown through Christ’s acceptance of death in our place.

The resurrection
“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!" - Luke 24:5-6
The resurrection of Christ rests as one of, if not the greatest, pillars of the Christian faith. It demonstrates Jesus’ victory over sin and death through His physical resurrection, giving new life to all who trust and follow Him.

Jesus tested by satan
Scripture
Luke 4:1-13
Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry. The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’” The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendour; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’” The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here.
For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you
to guard you carefully;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'”
Jesus answered, “It is said: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'” When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.

The garden in Gethsemane
Scripture
Luke 22:39-46
Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.” He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.

When he rose from prayer and went back to the disciples, he found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow. “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”

The Resurrection
Scripture
Luke 24:1-8
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Then they remembered his words.
